2009 New Year Resolution.
I never write this before. BUT its not late to start one.
1) Be a good father and husband: Wife has been complaining me not giving enough love to her. He he, spend too much time on other things, especially work.
2) Save more money: 2009 will be a really bad year for economy. More and more people get retrenched. You might be robbed by an engineer some day. Save more money, because OPPORTUNITY is for people who is prepared.
3) Manage my telecommunication company nicely: Now, we are not doing as well as expected, but at least we are on track of doing better job this year.
4) Manage my development company well: Will have few projects coming up this year. Hope can complete it all by 3rd quarter of 2010 and get more cash flow in.
5) Increase personal property investment portfolio: Since market is not good, it is a good bargain to get lands or residential properties.
6) Make my daughter say PAPA (first) ha ha: Now she started to mumble…”blah blah…uh uh…geh geh..” so hope she will say either PA PA or MA MA soon!
7) Will save enough money to travel for 2010: I promised my wife to go to New York by 2010 for Christmas! I will start saving more money so can shop more there! Every year we are traveling at least 2 places. We did go to Japan and Perth in 2007, then Hong Kong and KK in 2008, then we are going to KL, Perth then Krabi for 2009!
Change my ride by end of 2009: Eyes on few cars at the moment. Will make my decision by end of 2009!
…… cant think of any yet….will add on when i think of any!

Water Story.
Water Story. A story that will motivate many people including me. This is how it goes.
Story involve two guys name Peter and John who are at their mid 20s. Both of them got a job on carrying water in pails from a source to fill up a big tank then they will get paid by the amount of water they fill up tank. For example, filling up 10 liter (L) of water will be paid for 1 dollar.
So John started to work very hard, he work from 8am to 5pm, 5 days a week. Each pail holds 5 L and John can carry 2 pails each trip from the water source to the tank. So he can fill up 200 L and get paid 20 dollar a day. After 5pm, he will head home and rest or enjoy.
Peter is also working very hard. He work from 8am to 5pm (officially) , 6 days a week. Using the same pail as john uses. He carry the same amount that John carries a day. So both are efficient in filling up the tank. By 5pm, he fill up 200L in the tank and get paid 20 dollars too. But here comes the difference. He started to dig a drain. Every night non stop 7 days a week he dig the drain for 3-4 extra hours. So he only heads to home and rest at late night.
Everyone thinks Peter is crazy. Even John laughs at him every day he passes by Peter, seeing him digging the drain aimlessly. Why he needs to do something that is not paid and do it till late. So the process of digging continue for years. He did it all by himself. John is a happy man now as he owns many things with the money he saved. He got a house and car with help of bank loan. Living a normal happy and relaxed life. But Peter still digging the drain every night after work.
After 30 years, when Peter and John are old. Both are about to retire, John felt sick and week. He cant carry as much of water as he was young. He can only feel up 30 L a day. He have loans to pay and settle. Slowly his savings are drying up as his income is shrinking. Suddenly, Peter has announced that his drain to the tank is finally completed! The drain can fill up the tank full every one hour! One full tank can hold more than 2000 L. He get paid accordingly. Very soon, he became RICH. His hard works pay. Although he is old, but he is not POOR.
Peter approached John.
John: Are you here to laugh at me? Seeing me old and still carrying pails to fill up tanks.
Peter: No, why should i laugh at you? I am here to offer you a great opportunity.
John: Why is that? I am old now.
Peter: Be my assistant. I want to open more drains to more tanks. Each village will have at least 2 drains.
As conclusion:
Peter is smart and hardworking. John is hardworking but not smart. What i learnt from the story is that, being smart when hardworking and always plan further- BE PERSISTENT, success doesn’t come by LUCK . Always plan ahead.
Good luck to my friends. Some people i know have high commitment that are not necessary. Anyway, be SMART.

New macbook and macbook pro have arrived! Check it out in Apple.com, you will be amazed by a new era laptop. Macbook Pro – Ever imagine a laptop out perform a desktop? Have you ever imagine TWO graphic cards in a laptop? Its like twin turbo from a sports car (Nissan GTR), when you doing normal task, normal (but not too normal- Nvdia 9400M) will do most of the job. When you doing something more intense, such as creating another Finding Nemo or Ice Age animation then the more powerful graphic card (Nvidia 9600GT) will kick in! So, its really cool! 10 Reasons why you are not RICH!
Following are quoted from Yahoo finance! I found it might help some people including myself! Check it out.
Here are 10 more possible reasons you aren’t rich:
1.You care what your car looks like: A car is a means of transportation to get from one place to another, but many people don’t view it that way. Instead, they consider it a reflection of themselves and spend money every two years or so to impress others instead of driving the car for its entire useful life and investing the money saved.( i do care how cars look, i only dream of cars that i can afford.)
2.You feel entitlement: If you believe you deserve to live a certain lifestyle, have certain things and spend a certain amount before you have earned to live that way, you will have to borrow money. That large chunk of debt will keep you from building wealth. (Many people swipe credit card without thinking further.)
3.You lack diversification: There is a reason one of the oldest pieces of financial advice is to not keep all your eggs in a single basket. Having a diversified investment portfolio makes it much less likely that wealth will suddenly disappear.
4.You started too late: The magic of compound interest works best over long periods of time. If you find you’re always saying there will be time to save and invest in a couple more years, you’ll wake up one day to find retirement is just around the corner and there is still nothing in your retirement account. (Some people i know dont have habit of saving money.)
5.You don’t do what you enjoy: While your job doesn’t necessarily need to be your dream job, you need to enjoy it. If you choose a job you don’t like just for the money, you’ll likely spend all that extra cash trying to relieve the stress of doing work you hate. (Donald Trump always quote this too.)
6.You don’t like to learn: You may have assumed that once you graduated from college, there was no need to study or learn. That attitude might be enough to get you your first job or keep you employed, but it will never make you rich. A willingness to learn to improve your career and finances are essential if you want to eventually become wealthy. (Many people think learning is “TEXT BOOK”, means its not practical.)
7.You buy things you don’t use: Take a look around your house, in the closets, basement, attic and garage and see if there are a lot of things you haven’t used in the past year. If there are, chances are that all those things you purchased were wasted money that could have been used to increase your net worth. (Sometimes i do this too, meaning i need to stop doing this!)
8.You don’t understand value: You buy things for any number of reasons besides the value that the purchase brings to you. This is not limited to those who feel the need to buy the most expensive items, but can also apply to those who always purchase the cheapest goods. Rarely are either the best value, and it’s only when you learn to purchase good value that you have money left over to invest for your future.
9.Your house is too big: When you buy a house that is bigger than you can afford or need, you end up spending extra money on longer debt payments, increased taxes, higher upkeep and more things to fill it. Some people will try to argue that the increased value of the house makes it a good investment, but the truth is that unless you are willing to downgrade your living standards, which most people are not, it will never be a liquid asset or money that you can ever use and enjoy.( Many people in US “died” of this. At least Michael Jackson is.)
10.You fail to take advantage of opportunities: There has probably been more than one occasion where you heard about someone who has made it big and thought to yourself, “I could have thought of that.” There are plenty of opportunities if you have the will and determination to keep your eyes open. (Yes, i have advised some people of some potential opportunities, they just too timid to even TRY!)

I am going to be a father…VERY SOON.
I am nervous. Really, i am busy and nervous. Busy when busying with works. Many business on hands. Nervous when stop busying and thinking that i will be a father maybe less than 3 weeks. Wow..3 weeks. God is great that giving me a baby at this time, i believe He is great in TIME MANAGEMENT and He always choose the best time. So i believe i will be having great time with my baby. So last quarter of 2008 i will be busy. The whole next year of 2009, i will be insanely busy! Will be at least 2 projects coming up! Busy with new family member, busy with business…busy with traveling and ETC. Hope 2009 will be a great year for me. When you too busy, you will feel like a day passing like a minute. Wake up in the morning, breakfast, site visiting then meeting, then tea with contractors and architects then back to office check mails and meeting. Then lunch then meeting if needed or go visiting outlets, then back office or go to bank, then tea break, then bring wife from office together go HOME. Play ball in the evening or night, watch movies if not playing ball, or even go Yam cha with friends. Then go home and SLEEP. ONE DAY is gone. This year 2008, i find it passing so quick ( Helen n i are busy), i cant imagine home “QUICK” will 2009 be. Maybe the day i have a day break is 2010 Chinese New Year! Wa….. hope i can get “retire” soon. Ha ha…go back perth and live the LAID-BACK life (thats the biggest attraction for me of Perth).
