Water Story.

Water Story. A story that will motivate many people including me. This is how it goes.

Story involve two guys name Peter and John who are at their mid 20s. Both of them got a job on carrying water in pails from a source to fill up a big tank then they will get paid by the amount of water they fill up tank. For example, filling up 10 liter (L) of water will be paid for 1 dollar.

So John started to work very hard, he work from 8am to 5pm, 5 days a week. Each pail holds 5 L and John can carry 2 pails each trip from the water source to the tank. So he can fill up 200 L and get paid 20 dollar a day. After 5pm, he will head home and rest or enjoy.

Peter is also working very hard. He work from 8am to 5pm (officially) , 6 days a week. Using the same pail as john uses. He carry the same amount that John carries a day. So both are efficient in filling up the tank. By 5pm, he fill up 200L in the tank and get paid 20 dollars too. But here comes the difference. He started to dig a drain. Every night non stop 7 days a week he dig the drain for 3-4 extra hours. So he only heads to home and rest at late night.

Everyone thinks Peter is crazy. Even John laughs at him every day he passes by Peter, seeing him digging the drain aimlessly. Why he needs to do something that is not paid and do it till late. So the process of digging continue for years. He did it all by himself. John is a happy man now as he owns many things with the money he saved. He got a house and car with help of bank loan. Living a normal happy and relaxed life. But Peter still digging the drain every night after work.

After 30 years, when Peter and John are old. Both are about to retire, John felt sick and week. He cant carry as much of water as he was young. He can only feel up 30 L a day. He have loans to pay and settle. Slowly his savings are drying up as his income is shrinking. Suddenly, Peter has announced that his drain to the tank is finally completed! The drain can fill up the tank full every one hour! One full tank can hold more than 2000 L. He get paid accordingly. Very soon, he became RICH. His hard works pay. Although he is old, but he is not POOR.

Peter approached John.

John: Are you here to laugh at me? Seeing me old and still carrying pails to fill up tanks.

Peter: No, why should i laugh at you? I am here to offer you a great opportunity.

John: Why is that? I am old now.

Peter: Be my assistant. I want to open more drains to more tanks. Each village will have at least 2 drains.

As conclusion:

Peter is smart and hardworking. John is hardworking but not smart. What i learnt from the story is that, being smart when hardworking and always plan further- BE PERSISTENT, success doesn’t come by LUCK . Always plan ahead.

Good luck to my friends. Some people i know have high commitment that are not necessary. Anyway, be SMART.

Another Busy WEEK

Busy life. But worth it. This is what i have been doing everyday. Wake up early, get prepared and kiss my wife and baby then go to work. Morning visit sites, sometimes drenched in the rain but most of the time is having sun bathed. After 2-3 hours site visitation, will go back to office to sign documents and meetings. Then have lunch at the cafe below my office for 1-1.5 hours then back to work. Sometimes will go sites again. Otherwise will stay in office for meetings and information gathering. Then packing up at 5:30pm and heading home. On the way home, some times will have late traffic jam (normally around 5pm then start jam) Then reach home around 6pm, will do some dogs feeding. Then get bathed, finally come to hug and kiss my both ladies (wife and baby). Then Dinner at 7pm, do washing sometimes then watch Astro and do some more research online for properties opportunity or just chatting casually and of coz child monitoring while my wife sleep early at 9pm. Then i will be awake till 1am after my baby wake up for milk time. My wife will take care after mid night. Then i Snooze off…… the next day will repeat itself. Tired but knowing i am man of family now, taking care my child and wife. ITS WORTH IT. I AM THE MAN. IRO

Wanna be a millionaire? Start spending like one!

Last night as i was reading many articles online, i came cross to a very interesting article. ” Start spending like a millionaire.” So i though it must be teaching you how to identify the year of wine, where it is made, how smooth it is when you drinking a Rm1000 wine. Or telling you where you should travel, Paris for Irish coffee, Milan for LV bags, Or which yatch or super car to buy best suit your taste. then customize it with yellow cow leather interior for your lambo. To my surprise, its NOT.

“Spend like a millionaire” is not like that! You know what? Statistically shows that more than 60% millionaires are hard to be told from their spending style, their dresses, their habit and their lifestyle! Its call “millionaire next door”, just like your ordinary next door neighbour!  The other 40% will be spending like hell, dress to impress others, drink to please others, but these are very hectic and by end of the day, they are still not happy with themselves.

Lets get to the MAIN point. “Spend like millionaire” is always spend less than what you earn. If you earn Rm2000 a month, you spend less than that. If you spend more than RM2300, you will worth lesser the next month. A millionaire loves SAVING. Everyday save money, by compounding interest (Einstein said “compounding interest is the world 8th wonder!”), you will be the next millionaire few decades later (But your RM1 million in 20 years later will worth less than current value due to inflation). However, you are still a “Millionaire”. To beat the inflation, you gotta work hard too, invest hard too.

Stats also shows that 30% of millionaires still driving their 3 year old cars, not every of them change their cars very often. They dont spend more than RM1500 for a suit, they dont always drink RM1000 wine, they dont fly first class often. Ikea boss, top ten ranking in wealthiest people in the world, always op for economical class flight, loves fast food, hate to wear suits and save money.

So, are you richer than them? Spend money like running tap water? start spending like a millionaire if you wanna be a millionaire! Start saving and investing while YOUNG!
